How does the free trial work?

How many horses can I add?
The Hobby plan supports up to 3 horses. Pro has no limits — add as many as you need.
What's the difference between Hobby and Pro?
Both plans cover the core: unlimited records, the AI scanner, calendar and reminders, mare breeding records (heat cycles, covers, pregnancies, foaling, progeny), and the web + iPhone apps. Pro adds the tools for running a bigger operation — farm locations, horses you don't own, archiving, and reports/export — plus unlimited horses (vs 3 on Hobby) and 200 AI scans a month (vs 5). The stallion book — collections, freezing logs, bookings and seasons — is on Breeder. The Pro annual plan saves 17%.
What is the Breeder plan?
Breeder is for stallion owners running a breeding business. It includes everything in Pro, plus the full stallion book — semen collections, freezing logs, mare bookings, breeding seasons, mare compatibility, and your program summary — and a billing toolkit: break a booking into deposit and balance parts, attach your own payment links (Stripe, Venmo, PayPal — whatever you use), mark parts paid, and share a read-only invoice with the mare owner. It also raises the AI scan allowance to 1,000 a month (vs 200 on Pro) — enough to scan a whole operation’s paperwork in. HorseBook never processes or holds funds — payments go directly to you. Mare-side breeding records — heat cycles, covers, pregnancies, foaling, progeny — are on every plan.
Can I upgrade from Hobby to Pro?
Yes, upgrade anytime. Your horses, records, and data all carry over. You'll only pay the difference for the rest of your billing period.
What happens if I downgrade from Breeder to Pro?
Everything in your stallion book stays visible — collections, freezing logs, bookings, seasons, and every fee schedule you built, itemized just as you left it. We don't hold records hostage. You can still settle up: mark an existing invoice paid, undo one you marked by mistake, and close out the deals you already made. What you can't do until you upgrade again is start new business — new bookings, new charges, or new invoices.
What happens if I downgrade from Pro to Hobby?
Your data is always safe. Every horse and record stays visible, including anything you set up with the Pro tools — your farm locations, outside horses, and archived horses are all still there. You just can't add to them or run new exports until you upgrade again. The 3-horse cap applies to new horses, so if you have more than 3 you'll need to get back under the limit before adding another.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.
